Ting Liu, Ballet Instructor
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Ting Liu was drawn to the ballet barre at a very young age. She began to pursue a professional career at the age of twelve studying under former principal dancer of the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Deborah Hadley, and later on under the direction of former Bolshoi soloist Viktoria Titova. Continuing her ballet education, Ting attended ballet programs with the Kirov Ballet in Washington D.C, American Ballet Theatre, and Atlanta Ballet. Ting’s repertoire includes dancing in productions of Raymonda, Giselle, Les Sylphides, Coppélia, Swan Lake, solo roles in The Sleeping Beauty and La Bayadere as well as dancing the lead role in The Nutcracker. As a teacher, Ting finds incredible joy in creating a structured yet fun class to help dancers of all ages refine and strengthen their ballet technique. Ting moved to San Diego in 2013 to attend law school and is a recent graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law. Having been a substitute for San Diego Civic Youth Ballet beginning in 2014, Ting is ecstatic to be joining the faculty of this historic ballet school.
