Educational Outreach

Elevating the Arts in
San Diego's Classrooms

In many public schools, dance education is often overlooked, leaving students without the chance to experience the joy, discipline, and cultural enrichment that dance provides. Since its inception in 2003, SDCYB's Educational Outreach Program has been at the heart of our commitment to fostering a love for ballet within the San Diego public school system. As a trusted partner of the San Diego Unified School District and an Arts Education Resource Organization with the San Diego County Office of Education, we bring professional teaching artists directly into the classroom.

Our supplemental arts education classes, designed for UTK-5 students and approved by VAPA, are available during normal school hours and are tailored to meet the unique needs, goals, and budgets of each school.

We believe that every child deserves access to the transformative power of dance.

Classroom Teaching Artist Residency

This weekly, in-classroom program provides dance instruction to students and includes an optional culminating performances in the historic Casa del Prado Theater in Balboa Park.
